At our practice, our Salisbury dentist provides a high level of quality dental service, and has been doing so since our founding in 1981.

Our dentist, Dr. Sanford Greenberg, is fully committed to providing his patients with exemplary care. He provides painless, personal service for every patient, and emphasizes prevention and education, as well as the use of modern technology and techniques. Since he is a great proponent of preventive dental care, our Salisbury dentist stresses the importance of patients coming in for their annual exams. A great way to avoid dental problems in the future is to have periodic dental exams and cleanings. Dr. Greenberg provides comprehensive dental exams to help patients maintain their great oral health by catching any dental problems early on in their development. During an exam, all areas of the teeth and mouth are checked to make sure they are in good health. Among the procedures done during an oral exam are: teeth are checked for cavities; the patient’s moth is screened for signs of oral cancer; gums are evaluated for any signs of gum disease; and the patient’s bite is checked for any signs of problems. During the patient’s visit, there is generally a thorough dental cleaning performed to help keep the teeth and gums in excellent health.

Among the services offered by our Salisbury dentist are: restorative dentistry; cosmetic dentistry; implant dentistry; periodontal therapy; root canal therapy; complete and partial dentures; and TMJ and night-grinding therapy. At our practice we also offer nitrous oxide sedation for those patients who have a fear of the dentist or dental procedures. We believe it is important that everyone is able to get the dental care they need, and that a fear of the dentist should not hinder someone from getting this care. If you would like to make an appointment to meet with our dentist, Dr. Greenberg, we hope you will contact us at Amesbury Family Dental.

Removable Bridges Amesbury

Dentist near Amesbury That empty space where you used to have teeth may cause you to feel self-conscious when you open your mouth to talk or smile. Furthermore, the everyday act of chewing can become challenging to nearly impossible. If you’re missing one, several, or even all of the teeth on one or both jaws, we at Amesbury Family Dental can help you with partial or complete dentures. Those are the two basic types, depending on how many teeth need replacing by our dentist near Amesbury.

Partial dentures, also sometimes called removable bridges, are ideal when you have to replace one or just a few teeth. They consist of a plastic base that is colored to resemble your gums. It is then held in with metal frame. Our dentist near Amesbury will take impressions of your mouth and send those to the dental lab, where your partial dentures will be made, after which they will be fitted, and adjusted if necessary. They have clasps on either end to fasten them to the tooth on either side and you will use denture adhesive between your gums and dentures for a more secure fit. Unlike a fixed bridge, your surrounding teeth will not have to be affected at all. In addition to giving you back your full smile, our dentures will prevent your other teeth from shifting, which can cause discomfort and throw off the alignment of your bite.

When all of the teeth are missing on one or both jaws, or most of them, complete dentures are in order. They’re made in the same way that partial dentures are made, except that there are two sub-categories of them. Most common are conventional. After all of your remaining teeth have been removed, there will be a waiting period of 6-8 weeks during which your gums will heal and go through a natural shrinking process. This delay allows for a more precise fit of your new dentures by our dentist near Amesbury. With immediate dentures, you get the benefit of not going without for that period of time, but that also means you will need future adjustments to account for the changes your gums will undergo in the next few months.
